Like LaunchBar, Fruitmenu, and Default Folder, this popular and well-tested shareware GUI-enhancer has become an indispensable addition to OS X for many users. DragThing exists to make getting to things on your Mac-files, folders, apps, disks, URLs, and windows-quick and easy. Inveterate interface tweakers love DragThing because you can create multiple docks (like the OS X Dock) that can be almost infinitely configured to suit your specific situation. Plus, you can save snippets, define tons of hot keys, and perform quite a few neat OS tricks (like putting a Trash back on your desktop). If you don't like bells and whistles, DragThing might not be your thing-it's arguably nothing but bells and whistles, and the preferences can be a little overwhelming to new users. But if you like to have your OS X experience just so, few apps can help you better. This latest update adds support for Snow Leopard, a new dock theme ('Marble'), an option to highlight 32-bit apps, and more.

John Davis Jason, DragThing is a bit more than “kinda neat.” It’s a brilliant piece of software, if you want to organization the applications, folders and documents on your hard disk and be able to access anything with a keyboard shortcut or mouse click. There is a lot to it and you can customize just about every aspect of it. You can have pop up tabs along the sides of your desktop, for example, that pop open when you mouse over them. It’s kind of like the dock, only about a million times more configurable.
August 26, 2009 in Mac OSX (E) [prMac.com] Glasgow, UK - After a brief restorative spell away from the spotlight, TLA Systems today are delighted to announce DragThing 5.9.4, the return of a brand new version of their popular Mac OS X dock.
The price is cheap. This is very sophisticated software. The developer is very responsive. All in all, I highly recommend this software.
